|Since we made the difficult decision to close the store last night at 6 pm until at least next Wednesday July 15 we have been overwhelmed by customer support and we thank you at this challenging time. This morning we sadly learned a fifth staff member had tested positive. Our key thoughts and best wishes are with the five team members who tested positive to COVID-19 and we continue to offer them and all our employees whatever support they might need.
After we made the decision to close the store, even though we had already undertaken a deep clean and isolated team members in close proximity to those who tested positive, we understand some of you have had some follow-up questions.
The reference in our announcement yesterday to anyone who had visited the store on July 5 and who has felt ill or had any COVID-19 symptoms should consider taking a test for peace of mind was to make it clear this date was the last time any of the four members of our team we knew at time had tested positive had worked in the store. The fifth member of our staff to test positive, who we only learned about today, worked in the back office, in a non-customer facing role and worked last on Tuesday July 7. In our commitment to transparency we wanted to be clear about these timelines.
We believe in the spirit of always thinking of our customers first, we suggest anyone who has recently visited LaManna and who has any concerns about their health should ring the COVID-19 hotline on 1800 675 398.
We have not only met but exceeded every directive from the Department of Health and Human Services to deal with this issue. We contacted them the minute we learned a team member had tested positive. We closed the store last night, even though we had undertaken a deep clean, not because we were directed, but because we wanted to protect our team and our customers who are our family.
We will now use the time between now and next Wednesday to put in place as promised even extra measures to protect our customers and staff members.
